Block-level Elements

A block-level element displays a blank line before its contents and a blank line after its contents.

A block-level element is normally as wide as the page.

The Paragraph <p> and Preformatted <pre> elements are examples of block-level elements.

Inline Elements

Inline elements start immediately after the previous element and only use as much space as the element contents.

Inline elements cannot contain block-level elements.

The Strong <strong> element is an example of an inline element.
